Been watching a few videos on digital painting trying to better myself at it, I'm still only a beginner (clearly) with about 2 weeks in total practice under my belt. Its nearly 3:00am so im going to stop with this one for now and come back to it in the morning to see if i can add anywhere.

Beauty in Death
Skulls have always fascinated me so here are two pieces I created while at college. The background is made up of photographs I took while in the 'beautiful' Arizona which contrasts the skulls that are usually associated with 'death'.

Breaking Bad
A few months ago I drew these two sketches of Walter and Jess from my favourite show 'Breaking Bad'. Walter was a much more interesting face to draw because of his aged skin and facial hair.

Progression and Practice
Landscapes scare me but I know as an artist I'd have to come and face them soon enough and I rather enjoyed doing this little sketch. Here are my stages...
Trying to get quicker
Quick post - Really need to start doing some quick drawings and to draw more landscapes. Heres a go at one I've just done from a photograph I took on a holiday in America. Not happy with it really ._.
Got to start somewhere
Well for my first post I'll write about my very first finished digital painting. I've not had much experience with photoshop before other than cropping some images but it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Coming from years of drawing with a pencil, drawing with my tablet was pretty easy and I got a handle of it pretty quickly. At the time I had been watching one of my favourite TV shows 'The Walking Dead' and so decided to have a go at drawing the badass that is Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln). A lot of people have seemed to gone off him because of the more recent episodes for his crazy, miserable ways but his face just looks so.. drawable.
So here is my attempt at digital painting which roughly took about seven 7 hours altogether. (I'm a slow worker)

The only thing I'm not really so happy about are his eyes but the beautiful thing about photoshop is that you can just go back and redo parts so easily which I'm sure you know (if you draw that is) when you finish a picture you'll come away really pleased to then come back to it a few days later and it will have suddenly grown 2 noses. Anyways next I think I'll try and make it look more realistic, I have a very scribbley shading habit when I draw with pencil so drawing like this just came natural, but I won't stop drawing in this style, I love it.
